I love this bookstore! I got exactly what I was looking for - which is a great map of Wilmington. I plan to come back for one of their fun events in the near future.

They had such an interesting collection of books! I was told that the owner personally picks the books based on recommendations and feedback. The person staffing the store while I was there knew the selection well. I was described what I enjoy reading and she pulled several recommendations for me that I would not have found on my own.

Beyond happy that finally a wonderful bookstore has been opened in the Wilmington/Newark area! I always complain about the fact that no good bookstores exist in Newark DE, despite it being a college town, and I was beyond happy when my friends (who are scholars and fellow bibliophiles themselves) told me about this place. My friend and I hit H&H on a Saturday. I should mention that I am beyond happy that their hours go past 5 pm (at least open till 8 pm!) Which is amazing. Say you are coming back from your 9-5 job and on your walk home you decide to stop at a local bookstore that is home to not just books but a bunch of other cool and exotic items: card games, literary accessories and gifts, jewelry, funny/beautiful cards, artwork and more importantly, wonderful booksellers. Claire (hoping I am spelling her name correctly) was not only beyond knowledgeable about her inventory of books, she was so fun to chat with about a variety of concepts. We talked about the Brontës vs. Austen battle, the Jane Austen society festivals in England where she used to live (and teach? She is a scholar herself), James Baldwin, the amazing new translation of the Old testaments, and so on. I then lost myself among the books, while she and the other amazing bookseller, Ryan, talked to my friend about the weird musical instruments of the old ages and the cultural differences between America and the Netherlands. They also have a loyalty program that bith my friend and I immediately signed up for, happily. Not to mention their cosy environment, co fy chairs, beautiful blue facade and much more. I mean they have a comic book section for crying out loud :))) Couldn't recommend more. Please go and support them so they can sustain their amazing business and mission!

Stopped in for the Grand Opening because we love a good independent book store. They have a great location on Market Street! Inside everything is nicely laid out. They have a wide variety of books. The staff is friendly. It's a great place to spend some time. Check them out!

Huxley and Hiro has become distinctly Wilmington. Any good store can just have a good book selection, however Huxley and Hiro is great. Alongside, a wide selection of cultural endeavors that I feel purposely is curated for what this community of Wilmington represents. Great books and highly recommend checking out.

This cozy independent book store always feels like home when you walk in. They have tons of local authors and a fascinating selection. Whether you are looking for an old favorite or something new and a bit unexpected, Huxley & Hiro will have something for you. Their new digs also offer a café with Dueling Rabbit coffee. This is a great place to explore for an afternoon.

An excellent local book store that, while relatively new, has quickly become a cornerstone of the city. Not only will they provide you solid book recommendations for the genre you are looking for, but they also host local artists and community events. Plus, their choice of restroom wallpaper is phenomenal. They are now my go-to bookstore. Do yourself a favor and support this gem on Market Street.

Huxley & Hiro Booksellers is a terrific, beautiful, clean, and very welcoming place. Many good books! Many goodies to explore and discover! Claire is fantastic. She and her co-founder Ryan work cohesively together to create a vibrant and cozy place to find books, browse, and to have great conversations on any topic. I was quite excited when I learned that Claire and Ryan opened a new local and independent bookstore in downtown Wilmington, Delaware! I love this place and I recommend this bookstore quite enthusiastically for every book lover!

I was passing by the store front and happened upon a book I had been looking for, “The Upcycled Self” by Tariq “Black Thought” Trotter. Jason was very helpful and even searched for an evasive book “Without Sanctuary” and followed up. Independent book stores and beautiful gems we must all support. Kindle and Google Books are cool but nothing can replace an actual physical book. 🤌🏾😎🫵🏾

Absolutely loved perusing this bookstore in downtown Wilmington!! They had a great selection and their staff was very welcoming and knowledgeable. A great place to stop for souvenirs too even if you don't need books. They had everything from magnets to socks to chocolates, a lot of which were locally made! Would definitely recommend stopping in here if you are walking around in this area. Support your independent bookstores and shop local!
